This policy explains what data Study With Genius ("we", "us") collects through this website (swgenius.com), through the free Session Kit, and through the software we use to publish and manage our own YouTube channel, and what we do with it.

Who we are

Study With Genius is an independent, individually operated project based in Bilbao, Spain. Data controller: Mohamed Ben Omar. Contact: studwgenius@gmail.com.

What we collect on this website

• Server logs. Our hosting provider (Netlify) records standard technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, for security and to keep the site running. This data is kept for a limited time by the provider.
• Session Kit progress. The Session Kit timer stores your task list and completed blocks in your own browser (local storage) so they are there when you come back. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to create an account with your email.
• Email address (optional). If you choose to save your progress or subscribe to session updates, we store your email address and your session history with our email provider. We use it only to send you new sessions and, occasionally, a study resource. You can unsubscribe from any email with one click, and we delete your data on request.
• Analytics. We may use privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics to count visits. We do not use advertising trackers.

Use of YouTube API Services

Our internal publishing tool ("Study With Genius Pipeline") uses YouTube API Services to upload our own videos, set their thumbnails, titles and descriptions, and read analytics for our own channel. This tool is used only by us, on our own channel. It does not access, collect or store any data about YouTube viewers or any third-party channel. By using our website and channel you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Our pipeline stores, on our own systems, the authorisation token that lets it publish to our channel, and the metadata and statistics of our own videos (views, watch time, retention). It does not store personal data about viewers. You can revoke the tool's access to Google data at any time from the Google security settings page; this only applies to the channel owner, since no viewer data is ever requested.

Cookies

This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Embedded YouTube players, where present, are loaded in privacy-enhanced mode and may set cookies governed by Google's policy once you press play.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask us to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, or object to its processing. Write to studwgenius@gmail.com; we answer within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).

Children

Our content is intended for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We will post any changes to this policy on this page with a new date.
